"The Selma Dallas County Public Library is a community resource center where diversity is celebrated and where people of all backgrounds are welcomed daily for fellowship and learning. Our goal is to provide excellence in library service to the families of this city and county by building bridges of friendship and understanding."
Becky Cothran -Nichols , Library Director, Selma Dallas County Public Library

Welcome to the Children’s Department!

The Selma Dallas County Public Library Children’s Department is a very special place to visit. With brightly colored walls of red, blue and yellow, each area is full of surprises for all ages. Centered in the middle of everything, is our 240 gallon salt water aquarium with Nemo and his friends all waiting to say “hi”.

Check out the wall toys, puzzles, puppets and books that are on the shelves and ready also for a visit from you!
And don’t forget Lulu the Library Hamster!

Library cards are available at the small size children’s desk for all readers in the first grade and the collection of books is easy to use. There are books for beginners, chapter books for older readers and assorted series for teen readers. In other words, we can find the right book for you!
