Director Becky Nichols
I love working at the library! The best part of my job is opening the library every day to new challenges and new opportunities to serve the people of Selma and Dallas County. A real special treat is meeting visitors and tourists and showing off our great town!
“I love talking to readers about books they have read or are reading.
I also like recommending books that I have read.
Plus, I enjoy the community at the library and contact with Selma folks and friends.”
I assist junior and adult patrons that come through the Children's Department of the Library. My favorite thing to do is play with kids and make sure they have a good time while at the library. The best part of my job is knowing that I have helped others in ways that I may or may not know of.
I catalog new books and resources and schedule our meeting rooms.
My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family and work in my yard while listening to books!
The best part of my job is the wonderful people here, both the patrons and the staff.
My job is to greet everyone that comes into the Library, work at the main desk, check books in and out, shelve books, help people use the copier, and answer questions about different services of the Library. The best part of my job is getting to see all the different people and helping them find books. My favorite thing to do is read and spend time with family and friends.
I love working in the Library because it’s so fulfilling to spend my day helping people do all sorts of things. I never know what to expect—with me working on a birthday card one moment and helping a patron with a resume the next, I’m always kept on my toes. Luckily for me, I learn just as much in the reference section as the patrons I get to help.
I work at the front desk – adult fiction and in the business office
I love spending time with my sons and their friends.
The best part of my job is making a huge task – for someone who comes in to use the copier, fax machine, etc.,- simple and easy for them! They leave with a smile and so do I.
I also work in the reference department and the computer lab.
My favorite thing to do in the world is to share the good news about God’s Kingdom and give people hope.
The best part of my job is helping others in whatever way I can. It’s all about giving.
I check-in/check-out books, deliver books, update booklists and brochures and speak to everyone who walks into the library.
My favorite thing to do in the world is to draw.
The best part of my job is troubleshooting computer problems successfully, as well as helping people find what they are looking for.
I greet you when you arrive, help you find what you need, suggest great books, and generally try to make your visit wonderful!
My favorite thing to do in the world is watching my children play and laugh with their cousins.
I enjoy talking to the patrons about the books they need and love offering book suggestions, especially to reluctant new readers.
I plan children’s programs and also help with projects in the YA room after school. I also love to plan Courtyard Café and Book Bunch.
My favorite thing to do in the world is to be with my family and my friends as well as the time I spend at the public library.
The best part of my job is working in a great environment and meeting people from all walks of life.
I assist in the Reference Department and I love working here at Selma Dallas County Public Library.
I also love to meet new people and help them.
I love helping the patron get the things they need and see how happy they are when you help them get it.
I assist patrons in the Adult Computer Lab.
I love quality time with my family.
The best part of my job is observing happy, satisfied patrons!
I assist people in using the computers for work and school, help people find books and articles they need, answer a wide variety of questions, and sending fax and scans.
My favorite thing to do in the world is enjoying coffee and yard conversation with a friend or book.
The best part of my job is making a difference in the lives of others.
